About the Role
Join us in using innovative multimedia solutions to enhance the educational experience at the University of Arizona. The Multimedia Manager leads both field and studio production for UCATT's multimedia team, providing expert technical oversight and day-to-day supervision across all production environments. This is a hands-on role for an experienced multimedia professional who can mentor a team of specialists, lead complex projects from consultation through delivery, and apply professional industry standards to everything the team produces.

Duties & Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Lead the planning, production, and delivery of instructional multimedia content.
- Oversee and participate in both field and studio productions, ensuring professional standards are met across all production environments.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of multimedia specialists through all phases of production, from consultation to delivery.
- Train team members in multimedia best practices and in the teaching and learning principles that inform effective educational media.
- Meet directly with instructors to assess course needs and design multimedia solutions that support their teaching goals.
- Coordinate field productions, filling in as needed to keep projects on track and on time.
- Manage field and studio gear: track inventory, coordinate repairs, research new technologies, and develop purchasing plans for leadership approval.
- Maintain and refine project management processes that keep work transparent and on track across the team.
- Manage occasional fee-for-service projects, including creating budgets and coordinating invoices with UCATT operations staff.
- Collaborate regularly with the Multimedia Director to report on team progress and emerging needs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of field and studio production across video and audio with the ability to apply and transfer industry-level standards to a team.
- Ability to direct in a studio environment and lead field productions, including operating professional cameras, audio equipment, and lighting.
- Knowledge of post-production principles including non-linear editing, narrative structure, sound design, and pacing; ability to teach these skills to others.
- Ability to work effectively with instructors and subject matter experts, and to mentor junior staff in these communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and team workflows while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to build consensus, maintain positive working relationships, and communicate clearly with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in professional post-production software.
- Demonstrated excellence in professional still and video camera operation.
- Familiarity with teaching and learning literature on multimedia.
- Animation or motion graphic skills.
