Position Overview
Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan, nonadvocacy fact tank that conducts research across a wide range of social science topics. The Digital Producer will support the creation, organization, and publication of the Center’s digital research content.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist in preparing research content for publication across web and digital platforms.
- Support content formatting, layout, and presentation within the Center’s content management system.
- Ensure published materials meet organizational standards for accuracy, clarity, and usability.
- Work closely with researchers, editors, designers, and digital staff to define publication goals and timelines, including setting meeting agendas, tracking action items, and documenting decisions.
- Manage production tasks and track scope, milestones, risks, and progress for assigned projects using project‑management tools.
- Coordinate updates, revisions, or follow‑up publishing needs.
- Conduct thorough QA reviews of digital content, checking links, assets, metadata, and data presentation.
- Identify and help resolve publishing issues prior to and after launch.
- Support accessibility and usability best practices for public‑facing research content.
- Document workflows, standards, and recurring production tasks.
- Maintain internal records of published and in‑progress work.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in digital production practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort in collaborative, cross‑functional environments.
- Technical skills (preferred): familiarity with Word Press or equivalent CMS, experience with digital publishing tools or editorial workflows, and experience using project‑management platforms such as Asana.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in digital publishing, media production, research organizations, or similar environments.
- Optional: experience gained through internships, academic work, or fellowships will be considered.
Non‑Exempt
CompensationThe typical starting salary for this position is $61,690.
Hybrid Work ScheduleStaff are required to be present in the Center’s Washington, D.C., office three core days weekly (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Remote work is allowed on other days.
