COPYWRITER

Job Description

An ideas-first copywriter. We’re looking for a conceptual thinker with big thinking who is a student of the ad industry and has agency experience. Nothing less. If that’s you, keep reading.

• A link to your portfolio of relevant work. We prefer things like ad and social campaigns, creative concepts, and website copy, but will consider other writing samples. Spec and student work welcome. Provide the link on your resume, in your message, or both.
• ~2 years of agency or related experience. The ideal candidate is somewhere between junior and mid-level, though the portfolio is the tiebreaker. If you have a great body of work, we’ll be interested.
• A message explaining why you’re a good fit for this role. Copywriters write to move the reader’s emotions and sell a product. This is your chance to sell yourself. Don’t waste it.

Right out the gate, and as you grow, you can expect to work on things like:

• Campaign concepts
• Brand narratives and manifestos
• Social media posts
• Paid media (display banners, search ads, social ads, posters, billboards, etc.)
• Stunts and activations
• Strategic messaging playbooks and frameworks
• Radio, video, and podcast scripts

This is a semi-hybrid role. You’ll work primarily from our Cheshire, CT, office with the ability to work from home 1–2 days per week, depending on workload, meeting schedules, and other factors.

• Strong writing and proofreading skills
• Experience creating content for digital and social
• Can think and write independently
• Can think beyond the words into anything creative, whether pitching photo ideas or grabbing a phone for a Tik Tok
• Solid organization and time management skills
• Ability to find interesting angles and approaches, and crafting content to achieve meaningful business results for the agency and our clients.
• Ability to change your tone, voice and approach to speak to the needs of our clients and their audiences.
• A collaborative, inquisitive, curious mindset
• Natural problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with SEO/AIO practices
