Job Overview
Studio Coordinator, College of Communication, Technology at Boston University, will primarily manage technical and operational needs at the 808 Commonwealth Studios (808 Studios) and occasionally other production spaces. The Coordinator will maintain the facility, act as liaison with faculty, assist during class hours with cameras, lighting, grip/electric, and safety protocols, schedule practice and projects, and collaborate with Assistant Director of Technology.
The role requires hands‑on setup, installation, and breakdown for curricular classes and events.

Full‑Time/Regular, 10‑month limited term August 1 – May 31.
Salary Grade: 47; range $52,167–$59,750.
- Maintain upkeep of 808 Studios, including sound stages, equipment room, prop room, and expansions.
- Serve as primary liaison between faculty and studio users.
- Assist professors during class hours with cameras, lighting, grip/electric, and safety protocols.
- Schedule dates and times for practice and projects when studios are not in use.
- Coordinate with Assistant Director of Technology to ensure equipment and facilities are operational.
- Install, set up, and break down equipment for classes and events.
- Work independently, adapt to changing situations, exercise sound judgment in a dynamic academic environment.
- Handle occasional nights and weekends as needed.
- Ensure safety, including use of ladders and high‑output lighting fixtures.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in production.
- At least 2 years of experience working on production sets and studios.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred:
- 3–5 years of production set and studio experience.
- Prior experience in an academic environment.
Must be able to work on campus; remote work not offered.
Must work primarily during business hours; occasional nights and weekends may be required.
