The RolePuf Creativ is looking for an Editor (Contract/Part‑Time) to join the team on a contract basis. This role supports the writing team by providing editorial oversight across all content streams. You’ll be the last set of eyes before client‑facing content goes out the door, making sure everything is polished, consistent, on‑brand, and free of errors.
The ideal candidate has a strong command of AI tools, content strategy, and modern writing best practices, along with the ability to step into content creation projects as needed and support day‑to‑day editorial workflows. This person should feel confident writing and refining brand book copy, shaping messaging and tone, and maintaining consistency across all written content. This role will work closely with the Editor‑in‑Chief to help guide editorial direction, support creative execution, and uphold quality and brand standards across both client and internal projects.
This is a flexible, remote contractor position. You’ll collaborate closely with the Editor‑in‑Chief and the broader creative team to maintain quality across a growing volume of deliverables.
What You’ll Do- Edit and proofread blog posts, website copy, email campaigns, social media content, brand messaging, and PR materials for grammar, clarity, tone, and accuracy
- Ensure consistency in voice and style across multiple client brands and content types
- Fact‑check claims, data points, and industry‑specific references (especially cannabis compliance and regulatory language)
- Provide constructive feedback to writers that strengthens their work and builds their skills over time
- Collaborate with the content team on editorial standards, style guides, and brand voice documentation
- Flag content that may raise compliance concerns related to cannabis advertising regulations
- Support SEO content by reviewing keyword integration, meta descriptions, and on‑page copy for readability and optimization
- Manage turnaround on edits within established timelines to keep projects moving
- 5+ years of professional editing or copyediting experience (agency experience strongly preferred)
- Exceptional command of grammar, punctuation, AP style, and editorial best practices
- Ability to adapt to and maintain multiple brand voices across diverse clients
- Strong understanding of SEO content principles (keyword integration, readability, meta optimization)
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with a high volume of deliverables
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear, kind, actionable feedback
- Reliable, self‑directed, and organized with strong time management
- Strong command of AI tools and best practices, with the ability to use AI strategically to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, support decision‑making, and enhance overall work quality while maintaining accuracy and human judgment.
- Experience in the cannabis or hemp industry
- Familiarity with cannabis advertising compliance and platform‑specific content restrictions
- Background in content marketing, journalism, or brand copywriting
- Experience with project management tools like Productive, Asana, or similar
- Knowledge of Word Press, CMS platforms, or content publishing workflows
