Position Summary

The Show Caller / Technical Director is a dual role responsible for calling the live show and leading on‑site technical execution for a three‑day, premium fintech client event for approximately 150 guests at a mountain‑and‑lake resort in Beaver Creek, Colorado. This person owns the run‑of‑show calling script and serves as the on‑site technical lead, working hand in hand with the AV production vendor and venue crews to deliver clean, well‑paced general sessions and programmed moments.

The role reports to the Senior Producer and all client‑facing communication routes through the Production Director. Required on‑site in Beaver Creek, Colorado, for the final site visit and the event.

Key Responsibilities Show Calling
  • Build, own, and version‑control the cue‑to‑cue run‑of‑show calling script for all general sessions, transitions, and programmed moments across the three‑day event.
  • Call the show live, cueing audio, lighting, video, graphics, speaker walk‑ons and walk‑offs, and special moments.
  • Run technical rehearsals, speaker walk‑throughs, and dry runs, managing timing and pacing against the agenda.
  • Manage backstage and stage flow, including speaker readiness, mic checks, and on‑deck staging.
  • Reflect programming changes from the Senior Producer in the run of show and communicate them clearly to the crew.
  • Co‑led the paper tech and technical production meetings with the show and technical staff.
Technical Direction
  • Serve as the on‑site technical lead and primary point of contact for the AV production vendor and venue technical crews.
  • Translate the production design and program agenda into a technical plan covering staging, audio, lighting, video, graphics playback, and communications.
  • Review and validate AV scope, equipment lists, and technical riders against the run of show and venue, supporting the production team ahead of the AV approval milestone.
  • Manage load‑in, setup, level, and focus checks, and load‑out alongside vendor and venue crews.
  • Own the on‑site communications plan, including intercom channel assignments for callers, crew, and producers.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time and execute contingency and escalation plans.
  • Enforce on‑site technical and safety procedures throughout setup, show, and strike.
  • Attend the final site visit in Beaver Creek, Colorado, June 29 or 30, 2026.
  • Participate in production and technical planning meetings remotely during pre‑production and communicate with technical vendors and fabricators.
  • Partner with the Senior Producer on technical and show‑flow decisions.
  • Be on‑site in Beaver Creek, Colorado for the event, August 1 to 4, 2026, with load‑in and rehearsal days as set by the production schedule.
Qualifications | Experience
  • 5+ years of calling live corporate general sessions and serving as a Technical Director or technical lead for multi‑day events.
  • Proven track record owning a cue‑to‑cue script and calling shows for audiences of 150 or more.
  • Strong working knowledge of event audio, lighting, video, graphics playback, and intercom systems.
