SoFi is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced editor to help produce On the Money
, our flagship personal finance newsletter, as well as future newsletters. Reporting to the Deputy Newsletter Editor, the Senior Newsletter Editor will be responsible for editing and writing high quality stories that educate, inform, and inspire our audience.
- Edit stories: support our small but mighty team of writers at every stage (fact‑checking, structural suggestions, line editing).
- Assign stories: help identify newsworthy trends and topics, create assignment briefs, and track the editorial calendar.
- Write stories: research and deliver accurate, polished copy; responsibly leverage AI to enhance the workflow.
- Collaborate and cooperate: cultivate strong relationships with writers, editors, compliance, and cross‑functional partners.
- Journalist with experience covering personal finance news.
- Passionate about financial literacy and producing excellent work.
- Versed in financial products and services.
- Capable of managing every stage of the editorial process, including collaboration with legal and compliance functions.
- Organized enough to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously.
- Comfortable giving and receiving candid, constructive feedback.
- Committed to bringing positivity, empathy, and respect to every interaction.
- At least three years of experience editing for a top‑tier news outlet or personal finance newsletter (preferred).
Part‑time, contract position.
Compensation and BenefitsThe base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
