Location: New York
We are seeking an Associate Kids Technical Designer with 3–5 years of experience in children’s apparel to support the technical design process from development through production. This role will partner closely with Design, Production, as well as overseas factories to ensure fit consistency, garment quality, construction, and safety standards are met across kid’s categories.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of children’s apparel/sleepwear sizing and fit, excellent communication skills, and experience managing multiple styles in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Evaluate samples for fit, balance, construction, and workmanship across infant, toddler, and kids’ categories.
- Attend fit sessions and communicate clear fit corrections to overseas factories.
- Ensure consistency in sizing/fit standards across product lines.
- Review and approve measurement specs, grading, and construction details throughout development/production stages.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design and Production teams to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Track sample status and maintain accurate documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and troubleshoot garment construction concerns.
- Assist in maintaining fit blocks and technical standards libraries.
- Manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Production, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of technical design experience in kid’s apparel/sleepwear.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fit for kid’s sleepwear/apparel.
- Experience conducting fit sessions and communicating fit corrections to vendors.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and PLM systems.
- Knowledge of kids sizing standards and safety requirements is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
