Summary:

The Proofreading Assistant at Gotham Biotech plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all written communications. This role requires precision, adaptability, and collaboration within a dynamic, mission-driven startup environment.

• Review and proofread diverse documents including technical reports, proposals, and internal communications for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors.
• Ensure uniformity in style, tone, and formatting across all written materials.
• Collaborate with writers and editors to clarify ambiguous or complex content.
• Verify factual accuracy of data, dates, and statistics within documents.
• Contribute to the creation and refinement of style guides and writing standards.
• Manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Exceptional command of the English language with flawless grammar and spelling.
• Proven experience in proofreading and editing written content.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency with proofreading tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Grammarly, Adobe Acrobat).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a proofreading or editing role.
• Experience in engineering, technical, or scientific environments is highly desirable.
