About the Internship

The Digital Media Internship at World Resources Institute (WRI) Europe offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of our dynamic communications team in The Hague. The role focuses on digital content creation, strengthening WRI Europe’s message through engaging and strategic social media campaigns, and supporting a special project around the 10th anniversary of WRI Europe.

What You Will Do
  • Content Creation (35%) – Produce and edit short‑form video content and other social media materials for WRI Europe’s channels (Instagram, Linked In, You Tube). This includes filming at events, post‑production editing, designing visual assets (thumbnails, carousels, data visuals), and exploring new content formats aligned with WRI Europe’s tone and messaging.
  • Social Media Support (40%) – Maintain the editorial calendar; prepare and schedule posts around key campaigns, events, and publications; analyze performance metrics (engagement, reach, views); and assist with community engagement.
  • Special Project (25%) – Provide support for the 10‑year anniversary project, including inventory of Europe articles, online announcements, graphics, photo selection, and development of a new, semi‑separate WRI Europe website.
What You Will Need
  • Must be enrolled in a study program with a Dutch university or hogeschool for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Educational background in communications, design, media, or journalism.
  • Ample experience with video editing tools, graphic design, social media production, and analytics.
  • Understanding of social media language, behaviour, and practices.
  • Proficiency in English, including strong writing skills; additional European language(s) are a plus.
Conditions of the Internship
  • 5‑6 month internship starting on 21st September 2026.
  • Based at the WRI Europe office in The Hague with some flexibility to work from home.
  • Reimbursement of 700 euros per month based on full‑time working hours (32 hours per week).
