Senior FX Director

Position: Senior FX Director Hybrid Role
Step into a transformative role as a Senior Effects Technical Director in Vancouver. This hybrid position focuses on high-quality FX development and artist mentorship while using Houdini.

With a minimum of five years in the visual effects industry, you'll support junior artists while working on complex shots. Your ability to produce high-quality FX elements will be crucial in maintaining production standards. Collaborate in a stimulating creative environment that encourages visual innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design intricate 2D FX sprite sequences for smooth integration

• Create paint overs to depict visual FX concepts effectively

• Develop animations and simulations using Houdini software

• Mentor and guide junior FX artists in best practices

• Present and discuss shot work collaboratively in team meetings

Requirements:

• 5 years of VFX experience with diploma or 7 years alternative

• Strong knowledge of 2D FX animation techniques

• Proficiency in Houdini and basic Nuke familiarity

• Scripting proficiency in Linux and Python

• Strong communication abilities and artistic judgment
