Technical Editor, Remote

Our client, based out of McLean, VA, has a needfor a Technical Editor for a long-term remote contract opportunity.

This contract should be at least 6 months with potential for extension or even conversion to full-time.

Description

This is an opportunity for a technical editor with experience in the health and technical domain to support project teams. Seeking a communications professional with excellent customer service skills, exceptional editorial ability and a passion for improving communication products. The ideal candidate is a versatile writer/editor that will be supporting experts at various levels across the organization to gather information and deliver accurate, concise and impactful products.

Requirements

• Works collaboratively with a variety of subject matter experts to understand advanced technical concepts and develops clear, accurate, and comprehensive communications appropriate for the intended audience.
• Proven experience in editing and formatting technical reports and papers and delivering finished products in a deadline driven environment.
• Technically edit and format Word and PowerPoint documents for consistency and grammar and readability.
• Develop and/or apply template styles to documents; assist customers with template questions.
• Promote adherence to Style Guides and other relevant deliverable requirements.
• Edit graphics in PowerPoint.
• Prepare and test Word and PowerPoint documents for Section 508 compliance; perform accessibility testing using the latest version of Acrobat Pro.
• Demonstrated English language proficiency with exceptionally strong grammar skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
