Position: Motion Graphic Artist at University of Oklahoma

Position Overview

Motion Graphic Artist to design, create, and animate assets—including illustrated characters and environmental elements—for diverse learning projects. The role requires proficiency in industry‑standard software and collaboration with a creative team to produce engaging motion graphics that ensure brand consistency and aesthetic quality. The incumbent will stay current with industry trends and techniques to elevate the organization’s visual content.

Responsibilities
  • Translate functional requirements into application layouts and interfaces, producing interaction models, workflows, information architectures, flowcharts, and screen mockups.
  • Storyboard and map out dynamic user interaction journeys through detailed storyboards, interaction models, and flowcharts.
  • Merge creativity with technical acumen to create visually compelling screen mockups and motion‑graphic interfaces.
  • Generate a wide variety of 3D models—hard surface and organic—export them professionally, and maintain streamlined implementation workflows for seamless integration.
  • Create and export diverse animation sequences, including 2D animations and sprite sheets, ensuring versatility and creativity; manage animation data and cloud‑based tracking.
  • Design, edit, and produce video projects for online learning lessons; render and optimize content for web platforms while employing advanced visual storytelling techniques.
  • Integrate, synchronize, and optimize audio elements—effects, music, and voice‑overs—to enhance the narrative and emotional impact of motion graphics.
  • Develop technical art assets such as animation rigs, automation scripts, and shaders; research and implement pipeline improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Lead project management activities, from concept through completion, documenting requirements, maintaining asset libraries, and incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as required to fulfill the position’s responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; experience or a combination of education and related experience may substitute.
  • Minimum of 36 months of professional animation experience, 24 months of professional illustration experience, 24 months of professional 3D modeling experience, 12 months of video production experience, and 12 months of audio production experience.
  • Proficiency in industry‑standard software for motion graphics, animation, modeling, video editing, and audio production.
  • Strong storytelling and visual communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, including documentation and asset management.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques.
  • Background check required.

Remote work designation is subject to approval. The position is renewable based on funding availability.
