Graphic Designer with Personalized Photo Products experience

Hybrid in Rochester, NY

Pay: $30 to $35 per hour

We are looking for a highly creative and experienced Graphic Designer with a strong background in personalized and photo product design. This is not a traditional graphic design role, we are specifically seeking someone who has designed products such as greeting cards, mugs, photo books, wall art, banners, calendars, ornaments, or other personalized consumer products. In this role, you will create a high volume of original artwork and templates that customers will personalize and purchase.

You'll collaborate with product, marketing, content, and merchandising teams to bring fresh, market‑driven designs to life. This is a remote position for candidates living in or around the Rochester, NY area, with occasional visits to the Rochester office for meetings, training, and team events.

• Create original artwork and professionally designed templates for personalized photo products.
• Design graphics for products including greeting cards, photo books, prints, wall art, mugs, banners, gifts, and other customizable merchandise.
• Adapt artwork for multiple product sizes, layouts, and print specifications.
• Develop promotional graphics and digital marketing assets to support product launches.
• Upload and organize design files within internal asset management systems.
• Partner with product, content, merchandising, and marketing teams to develop customer‑focused designs.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews.
• Communicate design concepts and technical requirements with development teams.
• Provide guidance to outside design agencies on template and brand standards when needed.

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain organized project files and design assets.
• Work closely with QA teams to troubleshoot template and print production issues.
• Use customer feedback and performance data to improve future designs.
• Stay current on design trends, seasonal themes, and consumer preference.

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
• Required experience designing personalized consumer products or photo products.
• Experience creating designs for products such as greeting cards, mugs, photo books, banners, wall art, calendars, ornaments, or similar customizable merchandise.
• Strong portfolio showcasing personalized product design, layout, typography, and illustration work.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of print production, color management, image resolution (DPI), pixels, and graphic file formats.
• Experience designing for both digital and print production.l
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience working in e‑commerce, retail, consumer products, or personalized gifting.
• Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems such as Bynder.
• Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems such as Akeneo.
• Experience creating Photoshop Actions or batch processing workflows.
• Familiarity with 3D rendering or mock‑up software.

• Highly creative with a strong eye for design and typography.
• Experienced creating artwork specifically for personalized products—not just marketing materials.
• Comfortable producing a high volume of quality designs while maintaining consistency.
• Organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Open to feedback and excited to create products customers will personalize and enjoy.
