Job DescriptionProperty Disposition, part of the University of Michigan's diverse Procurement department, is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated Photographer to join our team. This position requires high standards in digital photography and attention to detail, combined with an understanding of the nuances of surplus equipment and items.
This position is a full-time appointment (2-year term limited) and will report to the Warehouse Supervisor. This role requires someone who can work under limited supervision, proactively anticipates and resolves problems, has experience in a role providing excellent customer service, and the ability to execute routine procedures.
Responsibilities- Conduct daily photography sessions of surplus items ranging from office equipment and furniture to laboratory apparatus and hardware devices.
- Use image editing software to enhance photographs and comply with the university's digital media guidelines.
- Organize photos and effectively catalog them for easy retrieval.
- Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure accurate and timely uploading of photos on the online auction platform.
- Troubleshoot and maintain photographic equipment as needed.
- Assist in organizing physical inventory at the warehouse, if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional digital photography experience.
- Proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong creative eye, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of inventory management would be an added advantage.
- A bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of surplus operations.
- Familiarity with eCommerce.
