Position Overview
The Office of Student Engagement seeks a Graphic Designer to support programming for commuter students. The role reports to the Associate Director for Recreation & Commuter Engagement and focuses on designing, marketing, and promoting department initiatives and programmes.
Responsibilities- Craft visual and written content for OSE digital and physical platforms to promote Recreation and Commuter Engagement initiatives, including events attended by OSE.
- Assist in the marketing plan and promotion of OSE programs, reviewing and maintaining websites and social media accounts (e.g., Narwhal Nation, Instagram, Twitter, Whats App).
- Create, organise, and coordinate reusable assets for specific events, programmes, and series, such as templates, guidelines, standards, and logos.
- Collaborate with students and staff on short‑term and long‑term projects that require graphic design.
- Maintain a confidential work environment.
- Federal Work‑Study Award required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to apply The New School’s branding and style guides to create coherent collateral across Student Success.
- Commitment to inclusivity and social justice.

- Creative problem‑solving, multitasking and teamwork skills.
- Capacity to give and receive constructive critique.
- Interest in contemporary and emerging digital trends.
Hybrid/Split – regularly scheduled on‑campus time (e.g., 1–4 days per week) with some remote work.
CompensationHourly Rate: $18–$20 per hour.
