Graphic Designer II (On-Call) – Public Health Communications
The on‑call Graphic Designer II is able to work both independently and collaboratively with the graphic design team to design and create files for print and online materials such as reports, social media posts, brochures, infographics, educational resources, and promotional campaign materials. The Graphic Designer II applies and augments graphic design training, experience, and skills in visual style and branding, illustration/photography and asset management, document formatting and page design, data visualization, copy layout, and creation of original and adapted graphic elements for a range of resources.
They stay current with best practices in graphic design, focusing on innovation and continuous process improvement. As a member of JBS’s collaborative, award‑winning creative and multimedia team, they work to understand client brand standards and deliver concepts suitable for federal, state, regional, and nonprofit projects. They interpret client feedback to make quick, impactful design changes. This position requires proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat DC, as well as other design tools (e.g., Canva, Procreate) and the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Articulate Storyline is valuable but not required and may support broader multimedia and learning projects.
NOTE: This is an on‑call position. JBS retains a roster of on‑call staff to assist with surge capacity needs on various projects. On‑call workloads may vary, with no minimum guaranteed hours. Assignments may require quick turnarounds on short notice. Strong communication, proactive updates to stakeholders, and consistent meeting of deadlines are essential.
