Position: Ottawa Correspondent for Online News
Drive impactful journalism as an Online Reporter Correspondent in Ottawa. Bring your ambition to cover important stories and connect with communities through engaging content.

This role offers a unique chance to showcase your skills in a 1-year term position. You will daily pitch, research, and write compelling stories for various platforms. Cover breaking news, assess leads, and work closely with the team to prepare high-quality scripts and content, focusing on issues pertinent to Indigenous audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pitch and develop original stories daily

• Ensure accuracy in multi-platform content

• Evaluate breaking news leads for relevance

• Assist in script preparation and visual recommendations

• Support Nation to Nation coverage and discussions

Requirements:

• Journalism degree/diploma with relevant experience

• Strong knowledge of content management systems

• Familiarity with Canadian Press News style

• Ability to articulate Indigenous issues effectively

• Proficiency in computer and broadcast technology
