Mid-Level Online Reporter

Embark on a fulfilling journey as a Mid-Level Online Reporter Correspondent with Gaulin Media, located in Winnipeg. This full-time, one-year term position is dedicated to impactful journalism.

As an Online Reporter Correspondent, you will have the opportunity to research and pitch original stories that matter while covering breaking news relevant to Indigenous communities. This dynamic role allows you to create multi-platform content and contribute to meaningful conversations through your reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and pitch unique story ideas for daily coverage

• Evaluate news leads and conduct source interviews

• Write and develop stories for various media platforms

• Prepare scripts while collaborating with your team

• Assist in national outreach for Indigenous stories

Requirements:

• Relevant journalism degree or diploma is required

• Experience in journalistic writing and content management

• Strong understanding of Canadian Press News Style

• Effective communication skills regarding Indigenous issues

• Comfortable with broadcast technology and related software
