Pay Range: $1,483.20–$1,596.50 per credit hour
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Course
Description:
This five‑week class prepares students to consider and start a creative freelance business. Typically, these ventures are in graphic design, writing, photography, video and audio production, branding, marketing, publicity, talent representation, and creative content creation of all types. Most of these types traditionally provide services and sell business‑to‑business (B2B), but with the emergence of the Creator Economy and direct‑to‑consumer digital channels, freelancers can also sell to consumers.
Consumer freelancer products and services could include art, books, newsletters, blogs, videos, training, and all kinds of entertainment and personal services. Assignments and class discussion cover getting started, finding your market, partnering, subcontracting, and more.

Responsibilities:
- Develop a syllabus.
- Order books and materials for students in the class to purchase on or before the first day of classes in advance.
- Prepare for classes.
- Hold office hours each week to meet with students in the class and others.
- Grade student assignments and examinations in a timely manner, and turn in mid‑semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to instruct the class on the days and times it is designated to meet.
- Ability to hold office hours on campus.
- Ability to grade all assignments and examinations.
Tools/Equipment:
- Ability to operate standard classroom instructional technology, which may include computer, projector, document camera, etc.
