Remote Environmental News Reporter — Volunteer

Overview

Earth Focus Network is looking for passionate, skilled volunteer news reporters to join our growing news media platform. We are building a global voice for environmental action—covering stories of restoration, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and community-led change.

We are looking for journalists, writers, and storytellers who want to use their skills to amplify the work of changemakers and environmental innovators around the world.

As a volunteer news reporter, you will write articles, conduct interviews, and cover stories that highlight the people and projects driving meaningful environmental impact. Your work will be published on the Earth Focus Network News Media website and shared across our social media channels, including Linked In, You Tube, and our community platforms.

This is a flexible, remote, unpaid volunteer position. It is ideal for students, early-career journalists, communications professionals, or anyone passionate about environmental storytelling.

• Write news articles, feature stories, and impact reports on environmental topics
• Conduct interviews with members, partners, and community leaders
• Cover events such as the Earth Focus 101 launch, Trip4
  
  Impact visits, and the Annual Forum
• Research and fact-check content to ensure accuracy
• Collaborate with the editorial team to refine tone and messaging
• Submit articles on a regular schedule (minimum 2-3 stories per month)

• Published portfolio of environmental journalism work
• Experience producing content for an international audience
• Mentorship and feedback from experienced editors
• Opportunities to attend Earth Focus Network events and field visits
• Linked In endorsement and reference letter upon successful engagement

• Strong writing skills with ability to communicate clearly
• Interest in climate change, sustainability, agriculture, or community development
• Research and interviewing skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Familiarity with environmental issues is a plus
• Basic understanding of journalism ethics and fact-checking
