Ineffable Films is a nonprofit on a mission to open the film industry to emerging and underserved storytellers. We do it through mentorship, festival access, hands-on education, and community screenings, with work that stretches from San Diego to New York to Boston to a creative partnership in Bandung, Indonesia. Stories are at the center of everything we make, and we are looking for animators who can bring ideas to life with motion.
The RoleWe are looking for an Animator Intern to add motion and magic to our content. You will create animated titles, motion graphics, and short animated pieces for our Global Lens Film Series, our social channels, and the films we support. Your work will help explain ideas, set a mood, and make our stories pop for a growing audience. Alongside that, you’ll be part of a community of filmmakers where you can sharpen your craft, get feedback, and lend your animation skills to the creators we support.
What you’ll do- Create animated titles, lower thirds, and motion graphics for our videos
- Build short animated explainers and visual sequences for Global Lens
- Design eye‑catching animated assets for social posts and campaigns
- Collaborate with our video and creative leads on style and direction
- Engage in the community, supporting other filmmakers with motion and animation
- Published animation credits from a mission-driven film nonprofit
- A reel of real work that has reached a growing audience
- Feedback and mentorship from our creative team and community
- A space to develop your own projects alongside other filmmakers
- A flexible, remote‑friendly schedule that fits around your classes
- An animator with a strong sense of timing, movement, and visual style
- Comfort in a tool like After Effects, Blender, Toon Boom, Procreate Dreams, or similar
- Reliability, self‑direction, and excitement for film and storytelling
- No degree required. We care about your eye and your work, not your resume
it’s yours whether or not you end up interning with us. Even if interning isn’t the right fit down the line, you’ll have a space to get free support from professional filmmakers on whatever projects you’re working on, plus connect with other filmmakers and animators along the way.
In the meantime, feel free to dive into our Open Hours, our live Q&A sessions with industry professionals that you can access right inside the community. ~Menefese Founder & CEO
