About Ineffable Films
Ineffable Films is a nonprofit on a mission to open the film industry to emerging and underserved storytellers. We do it through mentorship, festival access, hands-on education, and community screenings, with work that stretches from San Diego to New York to Boston to a creative partnership in Bandung, Indonesia. Stories are at the center of everything we make, and we are looking for artists who can add the polish and magic that make them pop.
The Role
We are looking for a VFX & Motion Graphics Intern who lives in the Fusion page of DaVinci Resolve. You will build animated titles, motion graphics, compositing, and visual effects for our Global Lens Film Series, our social content, and the films we support, using node-based tools, keying, tracking, and 3D to bring shots to life. Alongside that, you’ll be part of a community of filmmakers where you can sharpen your craft, get feedback, and lend your effects work to the creators we support.
What you’ll do
- Build animated titles and motion graphics in Fusion
- Composite shots: green screen keying, masking, and clean-up
- Track footage and integrate elements, text, and effects
- Create short VFX and visual sequences for Global Lens and social
- Collaborate with our video and creative leads on look and direction
- Engage in the community, supporting other filmmakers with effects and motion
What you’ll walk away with
- Published VFX and motion credits from a mission-driven film nonprofit
- A reel of real work that has reached a growing audience
- Feedback and mentorship from our video team and community
- A space to develop your own projects alongside other filmmakers
- A flexible, remote-friendly schedule that fits around your classes
Who we’re looking for
- An artist comfortable in Fusion (or eager to specialize in it) with a feel for motion and compositing
- Experience with node-based workflows, keying, tracking, or motion graphics
- An eye for clean, polished, story-serving effects
- Reliability, self-direction, and excitement for film and storytelling
- No degree required. We care about your eye and your work, not your resume
One thing worth knowing about the community: it’s yours whether or not you end up interning with us. Even if interning isn’t the right fit down the line, you’ll have a space to get free support from professional filmmakers on whatever projects you’re working on, plus connect with other filmmakers and artists along the way.
In the meantime, feel free to dive into our Open Hours, our live Q&A sessions with industry professionals that you can access right inside the community. ~Menefese Founder & CEO
