TITLE: Editor or Senior Editor (based on experience)
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Editor/Senior Editor at Sci Vida plays a pivotal role in elevating the quality, clarity, and impact of the strategic deliverables we provide to clients. This person will work closely with consultants and subject matter experts to translate complex scientific, medical, market access, and strategic concepts into compelling, well-structured, and visually polished communications.
You’ll be the editorial engine behind client deliverables, which can include presentations, proposals, reports, and narrative-driven strategic materials, ensuring alignment with Sci Vida’s high quality standards and consulting culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Substantively edit, proofread, and refine strategic business content to a high degree of accuracy across PowerPoint presentations, proposals, reports, and other materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, structure, and client-readiness
- Collaborate with consultants and scientific/medical subject matter experts to strengthen messaging, flow, and narrative cohesion
- Translate complex life science industry topics (i.e., clinical, scientific, medical, market access, or business strategy) into clear, compelling, audience-appropriate language
- Ensure consistency with Sci Vida’s editorial standards, tone, brand voice, and consulting-quality expectations
- Apply strong visual storytelling and slide design fundamentals to elevate presentation quality, ensuring content is both persuasive and intuitive
- Manage and optimize editorial workflows across multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality
- Uphold accuracy and compliance when working with scientific or pharmaceutical information
- Contribute to the development of templates, editorial guidelines, and best practices for content creation
- For senior-level candidates: mentor team members on writing, narrative development, and editorial excellence
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ (10+ preferred) years of professional writing, editing, communications, or editorial management experience; title will correspond to experience level
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in life sciences, healthcare communications, pharmaceuticals, medical writing, or management consulting
- Demonstrated ability to simplify and synthesize complex scientific or technical content
- Advanced PowerPoint and Word skills with strong aptitude for visual organization, storyline development, template creation, and slide-level communication
- Exceptional command of written English, editorial judgment, grammar, structure, and tone
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within fast-paced, dynamic, client-facing environments
- Experience in adjacent roles such as marketing communications, technical writing, editorial management, content strategy, or health engagement content development is highly valued
