Reporter

Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid Reporter role based in Dubai, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Reporter will research and gather information on energy-related developments, events, and industry trends, conducting interviews and verifying facts to ensure accurate coverage. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clear and timely news articles, producing multimedia content such as photos or short video clips when required, and collaborating with editors to refine story angles and meet publication deadlines.

The role also involves monitoring local and international energy news, attending press conferences or industry events, and adhering to editorial standards and ethical reporting practices.

• Strong reporting skills, including information gathering, interviewing, and fact-checking.
• Excellent writing and news writing abilities, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with sources, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Basic multimedia skills, such as handling photos, audio, or short video content to support news stories.
• Relevant experience in journalism, media, or a related field; prior energy or business reporting experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing news priorities.
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills are beneficial for regional coverage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related discipline preferred.
