Radio-Canada’s Radio and Audio division is looking for a Digital Editor to join its Digital Audio team on a contract basis.

In this role, you will write engaging headlines and short-form copy, adapt audio content from radio shows, podcasts and audio books, and keep Radio-Canada’s platforms updated in line with corporate standards and policies.

You will play a key role in expanding the reach and visibility of our audio content across the digital ecosystem.

Your work will span a variety of formats, ranging from short articles and audio summaries to video clips and original digital assets.

You thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment and have a genuine enthusiasm for mastering new tools and workflows. You are a collaborative team player who brings digital agility, independence, resourcefulness and creativity to the role. You also stay ahead of emerging digital trends, perform well under pressure and can effectively manage your priorities to meet tight deadlines.

This position involves non-standard work hours. The schedule may vary and include morning, daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. Overtime may be required, and the successful candidate must be available for rotating assignments. This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Role:
  • Draft engaging copy and articles, adapt broadcast programming for digital platforms and maintain website content in line with corporate standards and policies.
Key Tasks:
  • Keep up with news stories and information relevant to your area.
  • Attend story meetings.
  • Pitch ideas and concepts, and provide editorial input.
  • Research, gather, curate and verify information from various sources.
  • Review and select audio, video and visual elements.
  • Format media for optimal digital delivery, source stock imagery and take still photos as needed.
  • Write engaging, informative and promotional copy, tailoring the style to each specific platform.
  • Assist in developing and writing copy for interactive content, such as games and quizzes, and publish it online.
  • Update the content of the site or section.
  • Proofread and edit your own copy and assist colleagues with theirs as needed.
  • Help organize, moderate and participate in interactive digital events (live panels, chats and discussion forums).
  • Respond to audience inquiries and forward program‑related questions to the appropriate team members.
  • Carry out all other related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ relevant experience.
Skills:
  • Broad general knowledge.
  • Team-player approach.
  • Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of current events.
  • Fluency in the working language:
    French.
  • Strong proficiency in the other official language (English) is an asset.
  • Expertise in platform‑specific storytelling.
