KVNO operates as a Community Outreach initiative of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is located on the university’s Dodge Campus, providing strong ties to the local academic and arts communities.

Role DescriptionThe morning show host at KVNO hosts a live classical music program on KVNO Monday – Friday from 6 to 10 a.m. The host is responsible for conducting prep relative to programmed music, benchmarks, features, and other events that happen on-air for the morning show. The host announces on-air and is responsible for weaving together all the elements of the program to create an engaging and high-quality program.
The morning show host also supports development as needed by attending select donor meetings. The host participates in staff meetings, station fund drives, KVNO events and marketing efforts, and with other on-air hosts, serves as a representative of KVNO in the community.
- Morning Program Hosting — Prep and host KVNO’s live morning show every weekday from 6–10 a.m. (65%)
- Station & Community Engagement — Participate in staff meetings, KVNO events, donor meetings, and on‑air fund drives (35%)
- Additional Duties — Other responsibilities as assigned to support station operations and outreach
- Highly skilled in radio or a related creative field
- Minimum three years of experience as an on‑air radio host or in a related field
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across platforms
- Proven experience creating high‑quality content on a consistent basis
- Prefer experience hosting a classical music radio program or podcast
- Prefer background in the arts or affiliation to classical music
