The Theater Production Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of theatrical productions under the NAC’s cultural outreach initiatives. This role requires a creative leader with expertise in stage production, budget management, and stakeholder collaboration. • Oversee the end-to-end production of theater performances, including script selection, casting, and technical coordination.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for multiple productions annually.
• Collaborate with directors, actors, and technical teams to ensure artistic excellence.
• Develop partnerships with local theaters, schools, and cultural organizations.
• Coordinate marketing and audience engagement strategies for performances.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility standards for all events.

• Proven experience in theater production management, including stage design and event logistics.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse creative teams.
• Proficiency in budgeting software and project management tools.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for stakeholder relations.
• Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to promoting diversity in the arts.
• Knowledge of South African cultural policies and funding mechanisms.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts, Performing Arts, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in production management are advantageous.

• Minimum of 3–5 years in theater production or event management roles.
• Experience working with government or nonprofit arts organizations is preferred.

35,000 – 45,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
