JamMaster - Music Facilitator

BandJAM is a group music wellness platform that gives professional musicians the opportunity to use their craft in a way that goes beyond a traditional gig. We bring live, guided music-making into workplaces, treatment centers, and senior communities, where participants—
often with little or no musical experience
—come together to write, perform, and record an original song.

Each session is led by a professional musician-facilitator known as a Jam Master
. Jam Masters use their skills as performers, songwriters, improvisers, bandleaders, and communicators to help transform a room full of people into a band.

BandJAM is designed around the D.O.S.E. effect—dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins—and research into how collaborative music-making can support connection, creativity, engagement, and wellbeing.

The platform offers scalable in-person and virtual programming and builds on the foundation of its nonprofit sister organization,
Rock to Recovery
, which has facilitated tens of thousands of original songs across behavioral health programs, community organizations, and government partnerships over the past 12 years.

For musicians, BandJAM offers the chance to take years of experience performing, improvising, songwriting, and connecting with people and apply those skills in a meaningful new setting.

The Jam Master – Music Facilitator is a full-time/part-time hybrid role based in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm, etc, with some work-from-home flexibility.

We are looking for more than a great player. We want a musician who can read a room, lead with confidence, improvise, connect with people, and create music in real time.

Jam Masters lead interactive sessions for corporate teams, treatment center clients, senior community residents, and other groups throughout South Florida.

In each session, you will guide participants through the process of creating an original song together. That may include building a groove, developing chord progressions, shaping lyrics and melodies, arranging parts, coaching vocals, playing multiple instruments, and helping complete beginners find simple ways to participate.

Every group is different, and every song starts from scratch.

The role combines musicianship, songwriting, band-leading, improvisation, facilitation, and human connection. Responsibilities also include preparing for sessions, coordinating logistics with clients and the BandJAM team, facilitating in-person and virtual experiences, capturing basic recordings, and contributing ideas and best practices to the growing Jam Master community.

This is not a traditional performance gig where the musician is the center of attention.

Your job is to use your musicianship to help everyone else feel like they belong in the band.
