About the RoleRADICL Defense is hiring a Product (UX/UI) Designer to simplify complex, alert-heavy cybersecurity workflows for SMBs in the U.S. Defense Industrial Base. The role focuses on rapid, AI-assisted prototyping and end-to-end product design, partnering closely with product and engineering to ship scalable UI and contribute to the design system.
RoleRADICL Defense is seeking a Product (UX/UI) Designer to design interfaces and workflows that make cybersecurity and compliance actionable for small and mid-sized businesses in the U.S. Defense Industrial Base. You will take ambiguous problems to polished, shipped solutions, balance tactical fixes with longer-term work, and help shape the product and design system as an early team member.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Senior Product Designer, product management, and engineering to turn ideas into shipped features.
- Rapidly prototype using AI-assisted and agentic tools (including vibe coding approaches) to validate concepts and interactions.
- Deliver wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI that scale within a design system.
- Balance quick UX/UI fixes on the live product with structured design initiatives and contributions to the design system.
- Own projects end-to-end from research and exploration through implementation and iteration.
- 2–4 years of product design experience with a portfolio showing end-to-end process (research → wireframes → shipped outcomes).
- Strong proficiency in Figma (Design, Fig Jam, Figma Make) for wire framing, prototyping, and UI design.
- Solid UX fundamentals: information architecture, interaction design, usability heuristics, and user flows.
- Hands-on experience designing UX for AI agentic workflows and using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Figma Make) as part of the design process.
- Experience contributing to and designing within a design system.
- Proven ability to move from ambiguous problems to working prototypes and to partner with engineering/product to ship features.
- Strong communication skills and ability to defend design decisions.
- Experience conducting or synthesizing user research and usability testing.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) or designing for regulated, compliance-heavy industries.
- Prior startup experience.
RADICL uses a hybrid work model: in-office on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday and work-from-home on Tuesday/Friday. RADICL’s offices are in downtown Boulder, Colorado; periodic travel to Boulder may be expected for remote employees. Employee parking is provided.
CompensationSalary range: 110, USD per year (Boulder, CO).
