Sound Cloud empowers artists and fans to connect and share through music. Founded in 2007, Sound Cloud is an artist-first platform empowering artists to build and grow their careers by providing them with the most progressive tools, services, and resources. With over 400+ million tracks from 40 million artists, the future of music is Sound Cloud.
As a Senior Product Designer on the Creator Team, you will be a driving force behind defining and designing intuitive, impactful, and innovative tools for artists, producers, and music creators. A massive part of this role will focus on data storytelling: taking complex streaming analytics, audience demographics, and financial metrics, and turning them into clear, actionable insights that help artists grow their careers.
This role requires an entrepreneurial and autonomous mindset. You will have a high degree of ownership and must be comfortable leading complex design initiatives from zero to one with minimal product management support. You will bridge the gap between product strategy and execution, using deep product thinking to define what we build, not just how it looks.
Key Responsibilities- Design high-craft, intuitive product experiences that turn complex streaming analytics, audience metrics, and monetization insights into elegant, actionable dashboards for creators, using exceptional typography, visual hierarchy, and interaction detail
- Own and drive the end-to-end design process for creator-focused products. Step up to define product scope, requirements, and strategy when product management support is light
- Translate vague, complex user problems and business goals into clear, elegant, and intuitive product workflows
- Utilize advanced AI design tools and methodologies to supercharge your design process, accelerate rapid prototyping, automate repetitive tasks, and scale your output
- Conduct scrappy user research and leverage insights to create workflows, UI, and interactions that support creators in uploading, managing, and monetizing their content
- Partner directly with Engineering leads and key stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility, maintain alignment, and champion design quality through deployment
- Help evolve and maintain Sound Cloud’s design system to ensure consistency and scalability across creator tools
- 5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or interaction design, preferably in music, fintech, creator economy, or complex SaaS platforms
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to take dense, complex data sets and present them in a beautifully simple, intuitive, and visually compelling way. Experience building analytics dashboards is a must
- Proven track record of leading major product features or entire product areas independently with little day-to-day product support
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a portfolio that highlights why decisions were made, the business impact, and how you navigated complex user experience constraints
- Expert-level mastery of Figma, alongside hands-on experience leveraging modern AI design tools (e.g., Figma AI features, automated prototyping tools, or generative asset workflows) to optimize efficiency
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to pitch product ideas, justify design decisions, and align cross-functional teams without formal authority
- A genuine interest in music production, audio culture, or empowering independent artists to grow their careers
- Experience with motion design and advanced prototyping tools to bring data interactions to life, and familiarity with frontend development principles (HTML, CSS, React, etc.) or data visualization libraries (like D3.js or Highcharts) to smoothly collaborate with engineering are pluses
