About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Contributors provide examples, reviews, explanations, and feedback that help AI systems learn how people evaluate quality and make decisions in real-world professional settings.

This project focuses on visual and user experience standards. Your design judgment can help AI systems better understand usability, interaction, accessibility, inclusive design, typography, color, layout, and the reasoning behind effective digital product decisions.

  • Contribute real-world expertise to a fast-growing technology field
  • Review and explain design quality rather than relying only on automated rules
  • Work remotely with flexible project-based deliverables
The Role

Open Train AI is seeking a Figma UI/UX Designer to contribute professional design expertise to an AI training project. You will create practical graphics, layouts, interfaces, wireframes, prototypes, and design systems, then review design iterations and provide clear feedback.

The work combines hands-on digital product design with careful written and verbal explanation of usability and interaction decisions. You will collaborate remotely and submit deliverables according to project milestones.

    Contractor and part-time
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Location:

    United States

    Image
  • Task type:

What You'll Do
  • Design visually compelling graphics, layouts, and interfaces aligned with user needs and project objectives.
  • Create and refine UI/UX wireframes, prototypes, and design systems in Figma.
  • Apply typography, color, and layout principles to improve readability and digital product consistency.
  • Review design iterations, identify issues, and provide precise, constructive feedback.
  • Document design processes and explain design decisions in written and verbal formats.
  • Contribute real-world insights on user interaction, usability, accessibility, and inclusive design.
  • Collaborate remotely and submit deliverables according to project milestones.
Requirements

This role requires substantial professional design experience and advanced Figma capability. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate meaningful design impact through a strong portfolio and to communicate their reasoning clearly when critiquing or refining complex design work.

Prior AI experience is not required. Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles is helpful, as is experience translating usability observations into clear design decisions.

  • Five or more years of professional graphic design or UI/UX design experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating meaningful design impact
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma and contemporary design tools
  • Deep understanding of typography, color theory, and layout for digital products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong clarity and attention to detail
  • Ability to critique and iterate on complex design challenges
  • Self-motivated approach to autonomous remote project work
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles is helpful
Who Should Apply

This opportunity is suited to experienced designers who can balance visual quality with practical usability. It is especially relevant for professionals who enjoy explaining design decisions, identifying interaction problems, and turning feedback into thoughtful iterations.

You may be a strong fit if you have a polished Figma workflow, understand how design choices affect digital product experiences, and can contribute independently while meeting project milestones.

  • Professional graphic designers with digital product experience
  • UI/UX designers who enjoy critique, iteration, and design systems
  • Designers interested in contributing to the development of AI
  • Independent contributors comfortable with remote contract work
