Based in Montreal, this position reports to the Director of Content Planning, Management and Acquisition, Documentaries. In this role, you will evaluate and recommend high-potential documentary projects for Radio-Canada in alignment with established strategic priorities and editorial guidelines. You will also oversee all aspects of project execution - from external partner productions to cross-departmental co‑ordination - to maximize content exposure and discoverability.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and co-ordinate all stages of documentary production, from development through broadcast.
- Guide content selection and exercise sound editorial judgment to enhance projects, ensuring alignment with the public broadcaster’s values, mandate and strategic objectives.
- Manage production finances and budgetary aspects in close collaboration with the Business & Rights team.
- Engage and align internal Radio-Canada divisions (Communications, Marketing, Digital Products & Innovation, Social Media, Content Marketing, etc.) to optimize content reach and discoverability.
- Work in tandem with independent producers and key external partners to maximize content impact.
- Represent the department to foster strong professional relationships with producers, distributors and internal teams.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed to support department operations.
What You Bring:
- University degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years’ relevant industry experience.
- Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects while meeting tight deadlines.
- Deep knowledge of national television programming across Radio-Canada and competitor networks.
- Experience in content acquisition is an asset.
- Experience in broadcast programming is an asset.
- Ability to analyze and interpret audience metrics and television market research.
- Broad general knowledge base.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to navigate unexpected challenges effectively.
- Meticulous attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Strong initiative and the ability to work independently.

- Intermediate English proficiency in reading, beginner English proficiency in writing and speaking (BAA).
