Senior Medical Writer I​/II – Promotional Activities

The Arbor Scientia Group is a promotional medical education and communication-training agency dedicated to serving clients in the healthcare industry worldwide. The Senior Medical Writer I/II is responsible for creating content that is developed into promotional education and/or training assets for clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. These assets are created in many formats, including live/virtual presentations, videos, digital games, interactive eLearning modules, and print media. Content typically pertains to disease states and therapeutics. The Senior Medical Writer I/II is responsible for content development from conception to completion and may work with other Medical Writers on various projects.

This position requires frequent communication with clients and adherence to multiple simultaneous timelines. The Senior Medical Writer I/II must have the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently within a collaborative team environment.

Creation of educational content for a wide range of promotional and/or training applications, including:

• Videos
• Digital games
• Interactive eLearning modules
• Print media (manuscripts, white papers, booklets, pamphlets, newsletters, posters)

Assistance in the preparation of business development materials, including proposals and presentations

Execution of all tasks supporting the duties listed above, including:

• Conduct of literature searches and data analysis
• Exercise of sound scientific judgment
• Generation of outlines and storyboards
• Collaboration with the Multimedia department to create graphics and animations
• Maintenance of strong liaison with all internal and external (client and vendor partner) parties

The Senior Medical Writer should:

• Have a strong general knowledge in the medical sciences
• Keep abreast of current developments in the medical sciences
• Exhibit the ability and willingness to quickly expand their own knowledge base into unfamiliar therapeutic areas
• Take responsibility for and ownership of the scientific accuracy and integrity of all materials that they develop
• Be able to work well under pressure
• Be able to accept criticism constructively, from multiple sources (i.e. internally, editorially, and from clients)
• Maintain an objective and professional attitude at all times
• Be self-motivated and have the ability to work well with minimal supervision
• Possess excellent organizational skills and have a strong attention to detail
• Have a results-driven work style, with a passion for achieving high levels of performance
• Have the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment on a wide variety of projects, with changeable deadlines and expectations
• Excellent time management skills in order to meet all deadlines

A PhD is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are essential. A great deal of creativity is also expected. Publication experience is a plus. The applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus in PowerPoint.

This is a full-time remote work position. No freelance inquiries please.

Travel to support project needs (advisory boards, capabilities presentations, etc.) will also be required from time to time.

Senior Medical Writer I requires at least 1.5 years of prior medical writing experience and Senior Medical Writer II requires at least 2 years of prior medical writing experience. The depth and breadth of medical writing experience will also be a factor in determining level.

$90,000 to $100,000 for Senior Medical Writer I depending on experience

$100,000 to $110,000 for Senior Medical Writer II depending on experience
