Content Writer

Our inbound marketing and growth agency is on the lookout for a fun, creative, and talented Content Writer. If you have an eye for detail and a knack for writing engaging content that connects with your audience while clearly conveying the intended messaging, this job is for you!

As a Content Writer, you will assist with creating written content that enriches our clients' websites and digital presence across several mediums.

Our content department is responsible for writing blog posts, guides, articles, service pages, product reviews, social media posts, and press releases for a broad range of clients across a diverse selection of industries and topics.

Full or Part Time: Part-Time with the potential to become full time and with opportunities for advancement. The role is HIGHLY flexible, allowing content writers to “come and go” as they please, with the ability to (mostly) accept or decline “available” tasks as they wish.

Pay Rate: $20.00 to $40.00 /hour equivalent. Based on the average time required to complete various content tasks. Paid on a “per task” basis. On average, tasks pay a rate of $3-$5 per 100 written words, with the majority of tasks paying $3-$4 per 100 words.

Additional Compensation: Writers may earn additional opportunities for higher-paid tasks and/or other flexible remote roles/tasks.

Although we're willing to train the right individuals, those familiar with producing online content for brands, have an eye for detail, a basic understanding of SEO (search engine optimization), can follow instructions, and have a strong command of the English language will be best suited for the role.

We are looking for writers who can effectively and clearly communicate our clients’ message while engaging the target audience (often with a conversational business casual tone) and encouraging them to take action (sign up, make a purchase, explore other topics on the site, etc).

* Mandatory minimum of 1-3 completed tasks per week.

• Researching various topics as required
• Clear communication of desired messaging
• Preparation of well-structured content based on templates and instructions
• Proofreading and editing of blog posts
• Submission of work to editors for polishing/feedback
• Coordinating with your project manager via our project management system
• Following keyword and SEO guidelines to increase web traffic
• Anticipate and address client needs in content
• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone)

• Experience using Word and Google Docs
• Basic familiarity with web content (style and purpose)
• Superior command of the written word
• Exceptional grammar and proofreading skills
• Ability to write engaging content that draws readers in
• Willingness to learn about new topics and industries
• Solid online research skills
• Write clear marketing copy to promote our products/services
• Submit work to editors for input and approval
• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Google Docs
• Experience or willingness to learn uploading files to Google Drive
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to work and thrive independently with little oversight
• Able to provide a minimum of ONE or more examples of previous work
• Commitment to writing a minimum of 1000 words a week (when requested)

• Experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role
• Experience writing brand content such as “about us” and “services” pages
• Experience writing product reviews
• Experience writing press releases
• Experience writing local service pages (such as for roofers, dentists, lawyers, etc)
• Portfolio of published articles
• Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism or a related field
• Experience using Grammarly
• Experience using Slack or other company chat system
• Experience using or working with a project management system (i.e. Trello, Asana, Team Work, Click Up, etc.).
