VFX Pilot

Seeking a talented Senior VFX Artist to join our independent production team for an exciting sci‑fi pilot. This project delves into themes of artificial intelligence and societal collapse, with a visually rich, atmospheric tone, blending gritty realism with advanced futuristic elements. We need someone who can hit the ground running, bringing complex visual effects to life for our core sequences. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing and executing photorealistic CGI elements, creating environmental extensions, compositing intricate shots, and contributing to the overall visual storytelling.

You'll be working closely with our director and editor from late October or early November 2026. This is a roughly 6-8 week commitment, depending on the complexity of shots. Requirements include 5+ years of professional VFX experience in feature film or high-end episodic television, a strong understanding of compositing, 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering workflows. Proficiency with industry‑standard software (e.g., Nuke, Maya, Houdini, Substance Painter) is essential.

A comprehensive reel showcasing your best work, particularly sci‑fi or complex visual effects, is a must. While we’ll provide render farm access and project files, having your own workstation setup is a plus. This role offers a partnership (revenue share) opportunity for the right candidate, reflecting a shared investment in the project's success. This will be a remote position, with occasional virtual check-ins.
