About the Role

We’re hiring an entry level Collections Specialist to support our customers and internal teams with collections and customer support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting customers, and bringing organization to a fast-moving environment. You’ll reach out to customers regarding outstanding invoices, respond to customer inquiries, and help troubleshoot payment issues. This role will involve a significant amount of calling customers.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role on a lean team, and a great opportunity to make a difference in both our customer experience and internal operations.

This role is hybrid, with the expectation of up to 2 days per week in our office located in Cary, NC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Call customers regarding outstanding invoices
  • Email customers to verify invoices were received
  • Respond to customer inquiries via email and by phone
  • Proactively ensure up to date credit card information is on file
  • Troubleshoot failed payments or credit card issues with customers
  • Support customers in transitioning from check payment to credit card payment and ACH
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Sales and Client Care) to resolve billing issues
  • Ensure customer contact information is accurate
  • Maintain up-to-date records in our billing, ERP and CRM systems
  • Issue refunds or credits when appropriate and in alignment with policy
  • Identify and suggest process improvements to reduce errors and improve response time
What You’ll Bring
  • 0–3 years of experience in billing, customer support, or finance operations
  • Strong written communication skills and customer-first attitude
  • Comfort with billing tools and CRMs is a plus (we use Chargebee, Quickbooks, & Sales Force)
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfort making a large volume of phone calls
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
  • Experience in a remote or fast-paced environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with online education or subscription-based businesses is a bonus
