Collections Specialist

We have worked with our current client for the past 15 years and are looking for a Collections Specialist for a DIRECT HIRE position in their Romulus, MI location.

• Contact customers for collections
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and billing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of all contact attempts, payments, and collection efforts.
• Accurately process payments received and handle any necessary refunds.
• Prepare and present reports on collection activity and progress.
• Maintain professionalism and customer service standards while handling collections.
• Identify and track accounts with overdue payments.
• Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to discuss overdue payments and encourage timely repayment.

Hours:

8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday (can work from home 1 day a week)

• Experience with ERP systems, RFMS preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to accurately track and record collections activity and ensure all customer accounts are up-to-date and properly documented.
• Proficient in using data and reporting tools to track collection metrics, identify trends, and implement improvements in the collection process.
• Skilled in de‑escalating tense situations and handling difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.
