This remote role is not tied to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when, and how you accomplish your work. Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free workspace and sufficient internet connection.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the Collections Representative is responsible for collecting delinquent accounts by phone or correspondence. Uses a computerized system for tracking, information gathering, and troubleshooting. The representative answers basic inquiries or resolves problems by following routine procedures and processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collect on assigned delinquent accounts by telephone or correspondence.
  • Support dialer function through outbound manual dialer campaign.
  • Assign accounts to agencies for repossession, skip‑tracing, or in‑person collection activity when approved by appropriate authority.
  • Process and/or assign accounts to Adjustment Queue for payment re‑allocations and fee/balance waivers when applicable.
  • Understand and adhere to company collection and extension policies, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and confidentiality and privacy issues.
  • Use effective time management to ensure a satisfactory customer service experience.
  • Take all necessary steps to protect the company’s interests.
  • Protect information and comply with the law; maintain awareness of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of related customer service or collections experience.
  • Adherence to high ethical standards of truthfulness, honesty and fairness.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow to meet department objectives.
  • Proficient with computer systems and keyboarding/data entry skills with moderate speed and accuracy.
  • Detail‑oriented and highly organized with exceptional written communication skills and the ability to articulate information tactfully and professionally.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and effective negotiation skills; ability to handle a large volume of collection accounts and inbound/outbound calls.
  • Flexible and open‑minded with a teamwork orientation and ability to influence acceptance of change.
  • Self‑motivated, professional with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Pay may vary by geographic location and level of experience.
