Position: Remote Benefits Call Center Representative
Location: New York

Benefits Call Center Representative

Pay: $18.00 per hour (may be below state minimum wage).

Work Schedule:

Flexible Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑6:00 pm EST.

Job Type: Full‑Time Remote.

Training: 4‑week paid training, Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm EST.

Overview

You will be the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing members regarding health and other financial benefits. You will support retirees and current employees with pension plan inquiries, enrollment, and processing payouts. The position involves phone‑based administrative support, customer service, and assisting members by navigating multiple systems to provide accurate benefits information. You may also perform outbound calls as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the initial point of contact for member inquiries.
  • Respond to questions about health benefits, pension plans, and enrollment.
  • Process and document enrollment requests, status changes, complaints, and grievances.
  • Enter accurate information into a web‑based system.
  • Maintain knowledge of program policies and internal guidelines.
  • Provide clear, complete, and objective information to members.
  • Assist with outbound calls for follow‑up and enrollment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Successful criminal background check.
  • Previous customer service or call‑center experience.
  • Knowledge of pension plans or DB skill set preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and keyboarding.
  • Ability to pass an internet speed test (download ≥ 25 Mbps, upload ≥ 5 Mbps, ping ≤ 175 ms).
  • Must have an ethernet connection to a modem/router.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship‑building skills.
