Enrollment Services Assistant I

As an enrollment services specialist, you will be responsible for helping prospective and admitted students and their families by answering their questions and providing guidance about the MSU enrollment process. You will respond to incoming emails, answer phone calls and welcome walk-ins in the reception area. In this role you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and working with the team to improve our customer experience.
Your work will be very important in helping us serve future MSU students!
You will be a member of the dynamic Welcome Team, the customer service team in the Office of Admissions, consisting of full-time staff and student employees. It is our priority to create a work environment that's inclusive as well as diverse, where each person feels valued and can grow with support.
Minimum RequirementsKnowledge normally acquired through a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in student and/or financial aid record keeping systems, database, word processing, and spreadsheet software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.).
Desired Qualifications- Customer service experience (job-related and/or education)
- Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Work well in teams and with diverse groups of people
- Willing to learn new software, systems and tools — experience in call center and CRM (Slate) software is a plus
- Skilled in organization and problem solving
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well under time constraints
