Field Support Specialist (On-Call)

SPS Global is seeking a Field Support Specialist (On-Call) to provide on‑site coverage and operational support across client locations in San Francisco. This is a floating position designed to support business continuity when regular staff are out of the office or when additional project coverage is needed. The role is ideal for a dependable, service‑driven professional who can quickly adapt to different environments and maintain high service standards.
You will provide coverage when regular staff are out and support special projects as needed. The position is based out of a designated home office and may require short‑notice deployment to nearby client sites.
What You’ll DoThis role focuses on office services support, service delivery, and operational continuity.
- Mail & Shipping Operations
- Oversee incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Log and track deliveries using chain‑of‑custody systems
- Distribute mail and notify employees of deliveries
- Process shipping requests and verify packing documentation
- Office & Facilities Support
- Assist with supply ordering and stocking common areas
- Support light facilities tasks and service requests
- Monitor and support copy/print equipment
- Assist with office moves and workspace transitions
- Set up and break down conference rooms as needed
- Reception & Client Support
- Provide front desk or concierge coverage as needed
- Answer and direct calls professionally
- Deliver consistent, high‑level customer service to employees and visitors
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Working knowledge of MS Office and office technology
- Understanding of shipping and receiving procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible schedule with the ability to travel between client sites
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6+ months of prior work experience preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to learn and navigate computer‑based systems
- Professional demeanor with a customer‑service mindset
- Ability to work assigned hours and follow established policies
- Experience in mailroom, office services, reception, or facilities support
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes and office equipment
- Regular walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and sitting for extended periods
- Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. frequently
- Ability to move packages via wheeled cart (up to 60 lbs. capacity)
- Manual dexterity to operate phones, copiers, and related office equipment
