We are seeking a Collections Representative I (Representative, Collections I) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing past‑due accounts, including customers with balances aged 1–30 days as well as accounts exceeding 31 days delinquency.
Position OverviewThe position offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Wednesdays and Thursdays and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in‑office attendance on other days). Work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
Responsibilities- Providing customer service regarding collection issues, processing refunds, and reviewing account adjustments
- Resolving client discrepancies and short payments
- Monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts – customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write‑offs, customer reconciliations, and processing credit memos
- Building and maintaining working relationships with customers, dealers, other Canon entities, and associates
- Following through on all issues timely and accurately to resolution and ensuring escalation when necessary for cases
- Resolving customer delinquency to ensure resolution prior to 90 days
- Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts
- Resolving disputes such as insurance, asset usage, sales tax, equipment disputes, property tax, and monetary adjustments in a timely fashion
- Utilizing skip tracing/account reconciliation knowledge
- Updating core systems with case management while maintaining both the contact and virtual account database
- Providing professional, courteous, responsive, and accurate service to customers in harmony with the Canon Brand image
- Handling customer transactions efficiently while maintaining customer focus, collaborating, and communicating in real time
- Making sound, fact‑based timely decisions to provide an extraordinary service experience with customers
- Completing other projects as assigned by management
- Managing customers with multiple schedules
- Successful utilization of systems:
Sales Force, Unified Desktop, Leasewave
- 1 year of collections/customer service experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational training or coursework in a related field is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work successfully within a team environment and inter‑departmentally to ensure service levels, group and individual metrics are met
- Proven analytical problem‑solving skills and basic math skills required
- Ability to multitask and excel in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong ability to prioritize, with excellent time‑management skills
We are providing the anticipated rate for this role: $18.16 - $27.19 hourly.
