Customer Service Rep
Oscar is hiring a Customer Service Representative to join its Member and Provider Services team.
Role SummaryThis volume‑driven, production‑based position handles daily customer interactions and back‑office tasks following standard operating procedures in a health‑insurance environment. The role is remote and open to candidates residing in Florida, with occasional travel for team meetings and company events.
Responsibilities- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Oscar’s processes, procedures, and tools.
- Communicate with members, brokers, providers, and Oscar vendors through multiple channels.
- Manage an assigned caseload while maintaining service delivery, productivity, and quality expectations.
- Build working relationships with all partners.
- Support leadership by identifying issues through established escalation pathways.
- Monitor and track the health of all assigned work‑in‑progress issues.
- Escalate and resolve issues to ensure appropriate turnaround times.
- Participate in process‑improvement projects.
- Comply with all operational, regulatory, and compliance standards related to member Personal Health Information (PHI).
- Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1+ year of experience in a high‑volume or customer‑focused setting.
- Minimum 6 months of healthcare industry experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong quantitative or analytical skills focused on identifying or solving problems.
- Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Experience manipulating and entering accurate data.
- Advanced proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
Pay: $19.00 per hour. Eligible for employee benefits and monthly vacation accrual at a rate of 15 days per year.
