Customer Service Representative

Job Overview

Waste Connections is looking for an energetic Customer Service Representative to join our team in Vancouver, Washington. The position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with a starting pay rate of $21.50 per hour.

• Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer disputes and use proprietary operational systems.
• Interview customers, record information into the computer, and handle in‑person and phone interactions.
• Process orders for installation, discontinuance, or change in service; complete contract forms, calculate charges, collect deposits, and issue discontinuance orders.
• Demonstrate proficiency in MS Word and Excel and apply software applications effectively.
• Deliver services in a manner that promotes goodwill and resolves problems or complaints courteously.
• Manage a fast‑paced, high‑call‑volume environment (average 35‑45 calls per shift).
• Solicit sales of new or additional services.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

• Call center office setting with a clean, ventilated, and well‑lit environment.
• Workstations or cubicle space equipped with a telephone, headset, and computer.
• Noise and repetitive activities; short intervals between calls; requires excellent service under stress.
• All calls are recorded for quality assurance and evaluated for compliance.
• Long periods of sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 2 years of customer service experience in a high‑call‑volume environment.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email; typing and 10‑key skills required.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
• Willingness to work remotely during temporary COVID‑19 protocols and access high‑speed internet.

Washington State Pay Range: $21.50 – $25.00 per hour.
