Customer Service Rep, Recreation & Leisure
The Department of Recreational Services is seeking student staff to help create a welcoming and safe environment in the Recreation Center as a Front Counter Attendant starting in early January. Shifts may be days or evenings, weekdays or weekends, depending on availability.
Responsibilities*- Greet patrons and assist with providing answers to questions, both in-person and via phone
- Assist with providing accurate and timely information regarding memberships, programs, services, and policies
- Front counter tasks including, but not limited to:
- Check in patrons at the member service counter
- Manage cash register
- Process memberships, guest passes, and other sales
- Prepare paperwork and enter data as assigned
- Register patrons for a variety of programs
- Check out and organize sports equipment
- Other tasks as assigned
- Have an understanding of facility policies, and the ability to articulate these to students and Rec Center members/guests as needed
- Work closely with the Assistant Facility Supervisors (AFS) on facility concerns
- Current UM-Flint student
- Ability to obtain First Aid CPR/AED certification
- Work study award for the current or upcoming academic semester
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
