This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

HOURS OF WORK:Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
LOCATION:3000 Arctic Boulevard
Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.

Example of DutiesThe primary objective of this position is to provide exceptional customer service in support of water and wastewater utility operations. Responsible in resolving customer concerns, maintaining billing accuracy, and fostering strong relationships through responsive service and clear communication. Core responsibilities include explaining utility services, billing rates, and payment options; collecting monthly payments; establishing payment arrangements; managing delinquent accounts; and assisting customers with online account access;
and works closely with internal departments. Proficiency in customer information systems—such as KUBRA, Maximo, customer information systems, and service dispatch tools—is essential. Additionally, this role coordinates field service appointments for on-site work, such as inspections, repairs, or key box locates. Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent,
and
three (
3
) years of experience in a customer service, collection, or accounting environment.
Employment is conditional based on satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
