Healthcare Customer Service Representative

Make a Difference Supporting Veterans and Healthcare Providers

We are seeking compassionate, customer-focused Healthcare Customer Service Representatives to join a growing remote team supporting veterans and healthcare providers nationwide. In this role, you will assist providers with questions related to referrals, dental services, credentialing, urgent care, benefits, and other healthcare-related topics. This is more than a traditional call center position. Your work will help ensure veterans receive access to critical healthcare services and appointments.

Schedule

+ Monday-Friday

+ Must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM CST

+ Potential for occasional weekend or holiday coverage based on business needs

+ Once assigned, schedules remain consistent for approximately six months

What You'll Do

+ Handle inbound and outbound calls from healthcare providers

+ Identify caller needs and provide accurate information and support

+ Document interactions thoroughly within multiple systems

+ Research and resolve complex inquiries across several databases and applications

+ Guide users through online portals and self-service tools

+ Escalate issues appropriately and collaborate with internal support teams

+ Meet production, quality, and schedule adherence standards

+ Participate in ongoing training and professional development

+ Support continuous process improvement initiatives

+ Mentor new team members on call-handling best practices

+ Deliver exceptional customer service in every interaction

Required Qualifications

+ 3+ years of healthcare call center experience

+ Strong computer navigation skills with the ability to work across multiple systems simultaneously

+ Typing speed of at least 45 WPM

+ Experience handling high-volume phone calls while documenting accurately

+ Excellent communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

+ Previous remote work experience

+ Prior military experience

+ Experience supporting healthcare providers, insurance, referrals, credentialing, or healthcare benefits

+ Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Training includes:

+ Instructor-led virtual learning

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Columbia, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $14.78 - $15.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
