Location:

Boulder, CO (remote work available).

Contract:

3‑month, temporary to hire.

RIOS is an international design collective focused on architectural, placemaking, and landscape architecture at the intersection of built environment design. We prioritize interconnected design and innovation, leveraging holistic conceptual thinking to create resilient, inclusive, and original solutions.

• Lead and support all project phases – programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage project timelines.
• Produce design intent drawings, fabrication methods, and material specifications.
• Conduct construction administration, including shop drawing reviews and punch walks.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
• Strong typography, layout, and visual storytelling skills
• 3D rendering skills in Rhino or similar software (strong plus)
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
• Solid understanding of construction terminology and fabrication processes
• Knowledge of ADA compliance and relevant building codes for experiential graphic design, signage, and way finding
• Experience with construction administration (shop drawing reviews, punch walks)
• Familiarity with Sign Agent (plus)
• Prioritization and project management in a fast‑paced environment
• Independently lead small to mid‑size projects while supporting large complex projects
• Strong collaboration and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills

• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in experiential graphic design, signage and way finding, or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, experience design, architecture, or related field
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
• Available to work in person three days per week

$80,000 – $110,000 per year (DOE)
