Senior Product Designer, Merchant Platform Innovation

The Merchant Design team crafts products and services that merchants rely on daily to succeed on Door Dash. Our goal is to be an essential partner for every merchant by enhancing in-store operations and streamlining business management. We aim to design seamless, engaging experiences supporting merchants throughout their journey, emphasizing design thinking, creativity, and innovation to create memorable interactions.

As a senior product designer on the Merchant Platform Innovation team, you will work on a confidential initiative involving an emerging hardware product. You will join a cross-functional, entrepreneurial team dedicated to advancing this product. Your responsibilities include designing end-to-end user experiences, with a focus on speed, craftsmanship, and quality, given the early stage of the initiative. You will collaborate with research, product, engineering, analytics, and business teams to shape strategy and prioritize efforts.

This role reports to the Director of Design, Merchant Experience, and is hybrid, requiring onsite presence certain days a week with remote work on others.

• Lead the end-to-end user experience, including contributing to product strategy, running design sprints, and crafting visions.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other disciplines to develop and ship designs.
• Create compelling storytelling around product needs and opportunities.
• Design and refine flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
• Design and deliver high-quality product improvements.

• You have 7+ years of experience as a senior-level individual contributor.
• You enjoy tackling complex problems and bring clarity through your mastery of the design process.
• You are passionate about leading product strategy and vision for new areas.
• You skillfully blend strategy, research, interaction, and visual design for elegant solutions.
• You value high-quality visual design and pay attention to details.

The starting pay range is $107,400 – $158,000 USD, depending on location, skills, and experience. Compensation may include equity grants.
